PhotoEmerge, founded by Zohreh Firouzabadian and international curator and photographer Naveed Nour, was developed to create a resource for emerging and established photography based artists, to promote their work to interested parties in the fine art photography marketplace. Zohreh and Naveed bring a combined 30 plus years of experience in marketing, sales and business development to PhotoEmerge, which they use to effectively promote collaborating artists to galleries, museums and other parties of interest around the world.

Lectures and Workshops
PhotoEmerge proactively enables the participants' utilization of business development tools and techniques to successfully navigate through the competitive world of the fine art market.
This course is a must for anyone who intends to either become a professional artist or for those who choose to maintain their artistic course and promote themselves, while holding a parallel full time job during their artistic career.
As an artist you always have to remember that you also have to be business savvy and think like an entrepreneur, as you need to market and sell your talent in order to be able to finance your projects. Talent does not only refer to finished work, but also to the artist’s vision, ideas and capabilities. In essence your talent will become your product and like any other product in the world you need to know how to brand and market it, repackage it in various forms to reach a wider audience, create a need for your product, and then sell it to your audience. This course will give you tools and show you many doors that you need to unlock and open yourself in order to reach your goals. You will learn how to create your artistic identity, define your “Product”, identify business opportunities, set realistic goals and expectations, and hence navigate with an open mind through the swamps of the fine art business world. Even though saturated, the fine art market is always looking for new or uncovered talent, and you should take advantage of it.
Topics include: Introduction to the Fine Art Market, The Photographer & The Artist: Your Identity & Your Vision, Your Work & Your Growth, Portfolio Analysis, Cost Analysis for your goals, and evaluating the return on investment, Exhibit Planning - Space Analysis & Evaluation, Viewer & Client Analysis, Self & Artwork Promotion, Negotiation & Sales Tactics and Project Management.

Naveed Nour started his photography journey at the age of 5, and has been photographing internationally since 1980’s. During these years his curiosity has taken him from the Iran/Iraq war-fronts to his current work in Paris, London, Boston and Malta. His work is based on human interaction with daily life. Naveed has exhibited in North America, Europe and the Middle East. With more than twenty years of experience, Naveed’s background in business development and fine art composes him to be a unique educator. Students from Northeastern University, Mass College of Art, Boston Photography Center, Boston and Watertown High Schools have benefited from working with Naveed.
